High school wrestling is a special time period for the wrestler and his or her support group. In many cases, getting recruited to wrestle in college is frustrating and stressful. It doesn’t have to be.
The college application process alone stresses many parents and students alike, but what happens when you need to consider wrestling programs in addition to that process?
Of all high school sports, wrestling ranks highest among first generation college bound student athletes. As a parent, if you’ve never attended a college or university, this process can be extremely overwhelming. Even if you’ve been through the process or had a relative who went through the process in the past, things constantly change within the college application process.
Keeping up with these changes can be a full time job in itself. Is that really how you want to spend the last and most special year of your high school wrestling career?
Regardless of whether you are a coach, parent, or wrestler, we created College Wrestling Recruiting as a platform to help you along the recruiting process.
We’ve seen massive companies that focus on a wide variety of sports without building a deep understanding of the intricacies of one particular sport. These massive companies tend to over charge their student athletes too in order the keep their inflated and inefficient operations running. Meanwhile, parents gladly foot the bill and hope that the scholarship money will cover the sizable sum of money that they’ve spent on these companies.
We at CWR believe in a more efficient system. Our team is comprised of former collegiate coaches, college student-athletes, and parents of former or current wrestlers. Unlike some of the recruiting companies out there, we also believe that your student athletes are more than just dollar signs or commodities. We are members of the wrestling community with deep knowledge and passion in the areas of college wrestling, college admissions, and the recruiting process. Our focus is on serving you and growing the sport of wrestling by helping student athletes find the best possible opportunities for themselves academically, athletically, and professionally.
Wrestling is a sport that provides opportunities to young men and women of different weights, sizes, ages, and abilities. Wrestling transcends boundaries of ethnicity, race, religion, socioeconomic background, and disability. At CWR, we understand that you and your family’s situation is unique and we maintain a respectful and personal relationship at all times. If you’re a high school wrestler who is serious (or pretty certain) about wrestling in college, we’re here for you.
With our platform, you can create an academic, athletic, and personal resume through your personal profile. This profile also lets you upload videos, transcripts, test scores, and more. These profiles are visible to collegiate coaches and are also sent to prospective schools according to athletic, academic, financial, interests, and overall fit.
As a paid subscriber, you’ll have access to our exclusive Resource Vault, where you’ll find checklists, timelines, tutorials, search tools, and other resources to help you along the recruiting process. Our database allows you to begin your college search by choosing schools to look at according to association or division, price/tuition, state/geographic regions, admission requirements, and more.
Our passion to grow the sport of wrestling drives us to bring the opportunities to you.
The opportunities and growth at the collegiate level are the most we’ve seen in the last 15 years. Collegiate programs are being added in states where college wrestling was never an option. Women’s wrestling is growing exponentially across the country. There are more roster opportunities available than ever before, and we can’t wait to tell you about them.
Most of these increased opportunities are happening at the NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA (National Athletic Interscholastic Association), and WCWA (Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association) levels. There are significantly more options than NCAA Division I that lead to scholarships, tremendous educations, and opportunities to compete at the national level. This includes opportunities at the Club and Junior College levels too. In short, this means that you now have more 2-year and 4-year options throughout the country available to you than ever before. Get excited; we know we are!
There’s an increased need to get wrestlers to the next level. Do you want to take part in this explosive growth? Well, we want to help you do just that.
If you are ready to take the next step in your wrestling journey, we at CWR will help you with the transition. The Next Circle Awaits!
We are always looking for qualified recruit coaches to help us in our mission to increase college participation.
